The Soundboard of resonant wood is the main component in every stringed musical instrument. It is a wooden diaphragm, whose function is to transform the vibrations produced by the strings and conveyed by the bridge, into sound waves in the air, means of transmission, enabling our ears to perceive the music.
The Ribs are bars of selected spruce, processed in different sizes, glued on the back of the soundboard to support the tension of the crowning on the piano soundboard or on the tops of string instruments.
